As part of its Building our Future Locations programme, originally announced in November 2015, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) considered a number of possible locations for its regional centres.

In Yorkshire, HMRC considered three locations – Leeds, Bradford and Sheffield – before deciding that Leeds met its location principles more comprehensively than the other two locations.
