Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what recent discussions he has had with his Turkish counterpart on the arrests of Kurdish members of the Turkish parliament.

We continue to raise the importance of the rule of law and fundamental rights with Turkish counterparts. I did so most recently with Turkey's Minister for Europe, Omer Celik, when I visited Turkey on 4 January and the Prime Minister also raised human rights during her visit to Turkey on 28 January.
