Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:
To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, what percentage of sewage treatment plants in England contain storage tanks.
This question was answered on 4th November 2022
The Environment Agency permitting database shows there are 5,505 water company sewage treatment works in England, of which 37% (2,017) have permitted storm tank discharges.
