Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, what assessment he has made of the implications for his Department's policies of recent reports of the conduct of Hellenic coastguard 's conduct towards refugees in the Aegean Sea in relation to international humanitarian, human rights and law on asylum.

The Greek authorities are under considerable pressure, and the UK Government remains committed to supporting Greece's efforts to manage migration effectively. Greece has the right to control its borders but we urge all sides?to?uphold?international?human rights standards in respect?of the migrants and?to avoid any actions that may endanger human life.
