The Home Office subscribed to 117 journals during 2014 via a cross-government contract with a company called SwetsWise. Full year costs are not available because SwetsWise ceased trading in 2014, there may have been local arrangements in place, and it is not now possible to identify all the subscriptions in place during the course of the year. Subscriptions have not been centralised since that time. Compiling figures and details of local purchase arrangements as they stand at present for newspapers, periodicals and journals would only be possible at disproportionate cost.
