Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, for what reasons the backlog of (a) planned, (b) corrective and (c) deferred safety-critical maintenance work on oil and gas installations in the North Sea increased over the course of 2014; and if he will make a statement.

Industry chooses how to invest in offshore oil and gas operations. The Health and Safety Executive seeks to ensure that investment is directed to securing the complementary aims of worker safety and safe sustainable production. I back this approach to supporting growth.
