Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, how many calls or other communications the police in England and Wales received from the public about extreme views or behaviour.
The Home Office does not hold this information.
The police in England and Wales do not judge ‘extremism’ to be either a criminal or civil offence. As a consequence they do not collect or store the data within the parameters requested.
New criminal offences may be considered by the Counter Extremism Commission.
