In 2016, we transferred over 900 unaccompanied asylum-seeking children to the UK from Europe, including more than 750 from France as part of the UK’s support for the Calais camp clearance.

In addition, the Government has committed to resettle up to 3,000 individuals under the Vulnerable Children’s Resettlement Scheme (VCRS) from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region by the end of this Parliament. The scheme is open to unaccompanied children where resettlement to the UK has been determined to be in the child’s best interests.
