Provident Societies: Audit

Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask Mr Chancellor of the Exchequer, if he will reform the audit requirements for industrial and provident societies in line with similar requirements for companies; and if he will make a statement.

As part of its ongoing policy development, HM Treasury is considering the audit requirement for co-operative societies (Industrial and Provident Societies renamed to Co-operatives in 2014), before deciding if any changes are necessary.
