On behalf of the Secretary of State for Health, Health Education England (HEE) have the responsibility for funding the minimum number of clinical placements for nursing, midwifery and allied health pre-registration courses. To fulfil this duty, HEE consider a range of local and national health economy factors in commissioning sufficient placements; including Sustainability and Transformation Plans.
