Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, how many dogs have been returned to their owners under the Interim Exemption Scheme through the Dangerous Dogs Exemption Schemes (England and Wales) Order 2015 since that Scheme was introduced.

The Government does not keep a record of those instances wherein police allow dogs to be retained by their owners pending the outcome of the court’s decision. Individual police forces may hold their own records of this information.
