Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, if the Government will take steps to ensure that the expansion of Heathrow Airport supports job creation and economic growth in the Tees Valley.

The Department has undertaken an economic assessment of the impact of a new runway at Heathrow at a national level, taking account of all regions. People from the North East, including from the Tees Valley, can expect to be able to take advantage of new destinations, extra seats and increased frequency of service created by increased capacity at Heathrow.
