Question to the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy:

To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy, what steps the Government plans to take to improve efficiency among small businesses.

The Government is committed to ensuring competitive and affordable energy costs for all businesses, including small businesses, and our modern industrial strategy will deliver growth across the country through major investment in infrastructure, skills, and research and development. We will ensure that every small business in the country is offered a smart meter by the end of 2020 enabling them to engage with their energy use, and make savings on the basis of having better information about their consumption. Businesses can also claim capital allowances on energy efficient purchases.
