The quality ratings for childcare providers continue to rise and the latest figures show that 91% of providers on the Early Years Register achieved a “good” or “outstanding” rating as at 31 August 2016 – the highest proportion ever.

Ofsted is the non-ministerial government department responsible for the regulation of childcare providers and publishes a regular series of statistics on provider numbers and inspection outcomes on their website, including those specifically requested in this question.
