Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, in reference to page 11 of the Tourism Action Plan, published in August 2016, what discussions he has had with representatives from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport on the plan to deregulate an element of private hire vehicle licences.

Neither the Secretary of State nor ministers have held discussion with representatives from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport on this issue at present. Officials at the Department for Transport are working with counterparts from other departments and stakeholders on the deregulation of private hire vehicles where transportation provides an ancillary element of the service provided.
