Question to the Ministry of Defence:
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what assessment he has made of the effect on the local economy of the departure of RAF personnel from Leuchars.
This question was answered on 9th July 2015
RAF personnel based at Leuchars will be replaced by the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards from summer 2015. This decision is based on the interests of the defence of the whole of the United Kingdom, rather than on the basis of the impact on a specific region.
