Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government, what progress has been made on reform of business rates.

At Budget 2016 the government announced reductions in business rates to benefit all ratepayers – which will cost almost £9 billion over the next 5 years. The government has set an aim to revalue properties more frequently for business rates and will provide an update in due course.
