Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what estimate he has made of the number of people who (a) have fallen and (b) will fall into debt as a result of the covid-19 outbreak.

The government is conducting on-going work to understand and model the extent of indebtedness as a result of Covid-19. This data is still under development.

People will be impacted by Covid-19 in different ways and to varying extents. A number of measures have been announced to support individuals and businesses through this difficult time.
