Question to the Department for Transport:
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what proportion of trees used for ecological mitigation planting for High Speed 2 will be sourced from the UK.
This question was answered on 7th July 2015
The intention is for all trees to be UK grown, if possible. On the advice of the Forestry Commission and others, one third of the seed to come from the UK.
