Question to the Department for International Trade:

To ask the Secretary of State for International Trade, what discussions she had with Cabinet colleagues in (a) April and (b) May 2021 on the potential effect of adding India to the covid-19 red list for travel on the prospects of agreeing a trade deal with the Indian government.

The decision to add India to the ‘red list’ on 23^rd April was made by the Department for Transport under the international traffic light system, using an independent risk assessment methodology developed by the Joint Biosecurity Centre, part of the United Kingdom’s Health Security Agency.
