Question to the Home Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, with reference to paragraph 6.18 of the Budget 2026, how many additional large sites for asylum accommodation the £150 million capital investment in 2027-28 is expected to fund.

This government is working on a fairer distribution of asylum accommodation across the country, with £1 billion saved in costs since the election.

This includes closing all asylum hotels and moving to alternative accommodation, including former military sites, which are designed to be self-contained to reduce the impact on local communities.
