Question to the HM Treasury:
To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer, what guidance his Department has issued on (a) discretionary and (b) non-discretionary commission to organisations that are furloughing staff through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme.
Employers can claim for any regular payments they are obliged to pay their employees through the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. This includes wages, past overtime, fees and compulsory commission payments. However, discretionary bonus (including tips and tronc) and commission payments and non-cash payments should be excluded.
