Question to the Department for Levelling Up, Housing & Communities:

To ask the Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities, what steps he is taking to reduce backlogs of audit opinions for local government bodies.

The Government is continuing to engage across the local audit sector, including local authorities on the proposals set out in the system wide statement published in July. Further details will be issued in due course.
