Question to the Department for Transport:

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport, what estimate his Department has made of the number of potholes that have been filled from the Pothole Action Fund since November 2015.

The Pothole Action Fund is worth £250 million over the next five years to local highway authorities in England, outside London, and enough to repair up to more than 4 million potholes.

On 7 April 2016, the Government announced the share each local highway authority will receive from the £50 million available for 2016/17. Further details, including the share of the funding allocated to each local highway authority, can be found here:

It is for each local highway authority to determine how this funding is spent based on their needs and priorities.

This funding is in addition to just under £6 billion the Government is providing to local highway authorities for local highway maintenance in England, outside London.
