Data on the sex of people reporting potential COVID-19 symptoms to the National Health Service 111 and 999 telephone services and 111 online is collected through the NHS Pathways Coronavirus (COVID-19) Dashboard. This provides a count of the number of assessments, rather than the number of people reporting symptoms. Further information is available on the NHS Digital website at the following link:

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) is responsible for publishing mortality statistics for deaths registered in England and Wales. They publish provisional weekly deaths registrations, including deaths involving COVID-19, which are currently published for deaths registered up to 1 May 2020 and include breakdown by sex. This is available on the ONS website at the following link:

Data on the sex of people admitted to hospital with, requiring intensive care as a result of, or requiring ventilation as a result of COVID-19 are currently not collected centrally.
