Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what discussions he has had with representatives of the university sector on using university labs for testing purposes for covid-19.
This question was answered on 27th April 2020
The Department is working with a cross-section of industry and public sector organisations to increase testing capacity in line with the COVID-19 testing strategy. The Department have engaged individual universities, research institutes and Universities UK about how best to get involved and laboratories at several universities are now providing lab capacity and equipment to labs for testing purposes for COVID-19.
