Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health, when he next plans to update the National Suicide Prevention Strategy; and if he will make a statement.

Whilst the National Suicide Prevention Strategy for England is under constant review, there are no immediate plans for its update. However, the Department works with partners across Government and other expert stakeholders to monitor and implement the Strategy. A copy of the Strategy can be found on the gov.uk website at:

The Department publishes an annual report on the Strategy which summarises the latest trends, evidence and developments in suicide prevention in England. The second annual report on the Strategy was published in February 2015. A copy of the annual report can be found on the gov.uk website at:
