Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what recent discussions she has had with the the Police Federation on the timeline for publication of its 2024 and 2025 accounts.
I hold regular meetings with key stakeholders such as the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW).
As part of my engagement with the PFEW leadership, I regularly emphasise the importance of accountability and transparency, not least to their membership. This includes financial transparency and the timely publication of their accounts.
There have been widely-reported concerns about the Police Federation of England and Wales. As we set out in our Police Reform White Paper, in the absence of required improvements, this Government stands ready to bring forward reforms to ensure that the interests of rank-and-file officers are properly, effectively and robustly represented.
