The Government published a revised National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) on 12 December 2024.

This update expanded the requirement for applicants to take a more holistic approach so that it is clear that developments of all sizes are expected to make use of sustainable drainage techniques where they could have drainage impacts and take the opportunities which this offers to provide a range of benefits, but in a way which is proportionate to the nature and scale of the scheme.
