To ask the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, how she plans to define AI chatbot services that primarily offer sexualised content for the purposes of proposed restrictions on access by under-18s; and when those restrictions will come into force.

The Government has committed to preventing under 18s accessing sexual relationship chatbots and prevent access to general purpose AI models providing sexually explicit interactions to under 18s.

The Government is working quickly to deliver this policy, including establishing relevant definitions. The necessary regulations will be laid in 2027 through the affirmative secondary legislation process.
