Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, what diplomatic steps his Department is taking to encourage the protection of the rights of Kurdish citizens in Turkey.

The UK supports the rights of all minority groups in Turkey, including Kurdish citizens, and consistently encourages Turkey to uphold the rule of law and to live up to its international obligations as a member of the Council of Europe.
