The Government recognises the serious and often lasting impact that identity theft can have on victims. Identity repair can play an important role in helping victims restore their identity, access tailored support and reduce the risk of further misuse of their personal information.

The Home Office is working with law enforcement and other partners to explore options for strengthening support for victims, including the development of an identity repair solution. Further details will be provided as this work progresses.
