Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, what due diligence her Department undertakes to review and assess the suitability of surrogacy agencies before they are added to, or linked from, the Government webpage providing information on surrogacy.

The Department is currently reviewing the list of surrogacy agencies contained in the guidance titled The Surrogacy Pathway: surrogacy and the legal process for intended parents and surrogates in England and Wales, first introduced in 2018, to ensure it is both up to date and appropriate. Further updates will follow in due course.
