Question to the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero:

To ask the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, what assessment he has made of the potential impact of non-domestic energy costs on small hospitality businesses, including pubs and breweries.

The Government recognises that energy costs are a significant pressure on businesses, including small hospitality businesses such as pubs and breweries. We are closely monitoring the impact of energy prices on businesses and continue to develop policies to bring down electricity costs for the non-domestic sector. The best way to reduce bills sustainably is to reduce the UK’s exposure to volatile fossil fuel markets through clean, home-grown energy. We are also supporting businesses to reduce energy demand and bills through schemes that improve energy efficiency and help firms identify cost-effective measures to reduce energy use.
