Question to the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government:

To ask the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, pursuant to the answer of 16 September 2026, to Question 28983, on Council Tax: City of Westminster and Wandsworth, whether the then Prime Minister was consulted over the decision to disapply the council tax referendum thresholds in the six councils.

The Local Government Finance Settlement is subject to collective agreement. We will consult on referendum principles for 2027-28 in the usual way as part of the provisional Local Government Finance Settlement later this year.
