Question to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs:

To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, whether she plans to require environmental permits for highway runoff discharges from the Strategic Road Network.

There are currently no plans to require environmental permits for all Strategic Road Network highway runoff discharges. Existing permitting powers would be applied where appropriate.
