The Government supports self-employed people and everyone else who wants to start and grow their own business. The GOV.UK website and the Business Support Helpline provide information on starting and running a business. Start Up Loans offer start up finance and business advice and Growth hubs also provide access to local and national support. There are 4.8 million people who are self-employed.

BEIS Ministers meet regularly with their counterparts across Government to discuss a range of policy issues of mutual interest.
