Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:

To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, with reference to the NHS England pilot of rapid genomic diagnosis of brain tumours developed by the University of Nottingham and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, what assessment her Department has made of the potential impact of proposed redundancies among clinical academic and pathology staff at the University of Nottingham on (a) the delivery and sustainability of NHS research and innovation programmes and (b) the capacity of the NHS to translate university-based medical research into clinical practice.
