Protecting the right of all faith communities to worship in peace and without fear is fundamental.

In 2026/27, the Home Office has made available funding of up to £77.4m for protective security for faith communities. This includes up to £40 million for the Protective Security for Mosques Scheme, which provides protective security measures for mosques, associated Muslim faith community centres and Muslim Faith Schools. Measures available through the scheme include security personnel services, CCTV, intruder alarms and secure fencing. Up to £32.4 million has been made available for protective security at synagogues, Jewish educational establishments and other community sites.

The Government announced £250 million policing package in July 2026 to strengthen policing and provide reassurance for Jewish communities following a series of violent attacks targeting Jewish people and locations.
