The implementation of the Visitor Levy (Scotland) Act 2024 is a matter for local authorities in Scotland. As Glasgow City Council’s 5% levy does not take effect until 25 January 2027, there is currently no impact on accommodation costs for staff visiting the Glasgow headquarters.

Official business travel across the Department remains governed by strict travel policies and ceiling rates, and future local levy developments will continue to be monitored to ensure value for money.
