It is for building owners to determine their approaches to procuring external wall insulation and cladding for their buildings in line with relevant regulations. Where building work is undertaken, including external wall insulation and cladding, that work must meet the relevant requirements of the Building Regulations. The expert panel set up in response to the Grenfell Tower fire has led to three pieces of advice to social landlords, which cover insulation and cladding issues. The most recent advice sets out some of the wider considerations social landlords should be aware of when planning further work to remove and possibly replace cladding.
