The Government is committed to encouraging and contributing to international action to address the widespread problem of deforestation. Through our international network we support and regularly advocate for international cooperation on deforestation through multilateral institutions such as the UN and the World Bank. Together with international partners, we pledged to mobilise US $5billion between 2015 and 2020 to help reduce deforestation and promote sustainable land use in the world's tropical forest basins, including the Amazon.
