Question to the Home Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department, what provision is made for transport for asylum seekers housed in rural dispersal accommodation where there is limited public transport, including for travel to (a) healthcare appointments, (b) immigration reporting appointments and (c) legal advice and appointments.
The Home Office does not record dispersal accommodation by the rurality of its location. Where transport is needed to meet essential living the default provision is by public transport. The Home Office keeps guidance under review to ensure transport provision is delivered consistently, fairly and in a way that represents value for money for the taxpayer.
