Through the annual Estates Return Information Collection, data is collected annually on the number of incidents caused by estates and infrastructure failure which resulted in clinical services being delayed, cancelled or otherwise interfered with owing to problems or failures related to the estates and infrastructure failure. For National Health Service trusts and NHS foundation trusts, the data available is shown in the following table.

Year

Number of clinical service incidents caused by estates and infrastructure failure

2015/16

256

2016/17

97

2017/18
