The UK Government remains committed to working with the European Commission and EU Member States to help Withdrawal Agreement beneficiaries access their rights.

The European Commission is responsible for monitoring implementation of Part Two (Citizens’ Rights) of the Withdrawal Agreement across the EU. While the UK does not hold data on deportation orders or appeals following rejected residence applications, the European Commission’s annual reports to the Specialised Committee on Citizens’ Rights cover UK application numbers and complaints.

Additionally, the UK Government, Embassies, and High Commissions regularly engage civil society groups to keep UK nationals in the EU informed. In partnership with these groups, British Embassies and High Commissions run targeted campaigns across EU Member States to advise UK residents of their rights and encourage them to apply for residence documentation.
