Question to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office:
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, whether the Government plans to raise the national security implications of ecosystem collapse at (a) the United Nations Security Council (b) NATO (c) the Council of Europe (d) other multilateral security forums.
The Government recognises that environmental degradation, biodiversity loss and ecosystem collapse can have implications for prosperity, resilience and security. We engage regularly with international partners through multilateral institutions on these issues. The Government determines its engagement in specific fora based on where it can be most effective.
