Question to the Department for Work and Pensions:

To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, pursuant to the Answer of 22 June 2022 to Question 17999 on Social Security Benefits: Tribunals, if she will make an assessment of the reasons for which tribunals draw different conclusions to her Department on cases based on the same written and oral evidence.

Tribunals are independent of the Department and may draw a different conclusion based on the same evidence.

We seek to learn from tribunal outcomes and are continually improving our processes.
