Question to the Ministry of Justice:

To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, what the timetable is for the Government and the Law Commission to agree on the terms of reference for the Law Commission’s full review of the law governing weddings.

The Government announced in the Budget that it would invite the Law Commission to review the law on how and where couples may marry in England and Wales. The Government has been finalising the terms of reference with the Law Commission and expects to announce the details shortly.
