As set out in the NHS Long Term Plan, an Implementation Framework will be published shortly which will set out the next steps the National Health Service will take to deliver the commitments and the national activity and support available to local health systems. This Framework will assist local health systems, who will build on the engagement already taking place across the country, in developing their strategic Long Term Plan implementation plans over the summer. NHS England and NHS Improvement will then publish a national implementation plan in the autumn.

As agreed in the 2019/20 General Practice contract, NHS England is leading a review of general practitioner vaccinations and immunisations standards, funding and procurement, which commenced in April 2019. An advisory group has been established to oversee the work; this includes representation from the British Medical Association, the Royal College of General Practitioners, Public Health England, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence, the Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee, the Royal College of Nursing and patients.
