NHS Digital publishes workforce statistics and the following table shows the number of midwives who are 70 and over working in the National Health Service in England at 30 September 2012 to 2016. Data for March 2017 is also provided as this is the latest available.

The data is headcount because equality data relates to individuals.

NHS Hospital and Community Health Services (HCHS): Registered midwives who are 70 and and over in NHS trusts and clinical commissioning groups in England as at 30 September each specified year and latest data as at 31 March 2017.
