Question to the Department of Health and Social Care:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health, how many midwives working in the NHS in England were 70 or older in each of the last five years.
NHS Digital publishes workforce statistics and the following table shows the number of midwives who are 70 and over working in the National Health Service in England at 30 September 2012 to 2016. Data for March 2017 is also provided as this is the latest available.
The data is headcount because equality data relates to individuals.
